Terezin Fortress. This small window, high up on the wall was the only illumination into a prison cell some twelve feet square. The cell was completely empty - no beds, no chairs - and held up to sixty prisoners.
Auschwitz had cells 3' square with no windows where 4 people would be put - after a days slave labour. This would go on for days at a time .............. can you imagine having no toilet facilities, not being able to sit down and having to work for 16 hours a day with almost no food for day after day.
