hope I die soon

By patters
after seeing all the cool landscapes on this site (just go catagory/landscapes, you'll see what I mean) I thought, "I could take a pic like that, but the scenery round here is pants" So, me and Sue took a week off and drove down to the lakes. Never been there before, the first day was realy overcast, but the scenery was breathtaking, so, hold the camera up yo my eye and... AY?? thats not what I see with the naked eye, the camera must be broke!!

That day I took about 30 of the crappiest pics I have ever taken and I went home totaly disheartened. I blamed it on the weather, then I heard a rumbling from the heavens as the gods discussed my situation..

"So, his blaming the weather for his ***** fotografic skills ay, right then!"

The next day, I rose to singing birds (I wish Smile ) there where scattered fluffy clouds just like at the beggining of the Simpsons, and wait for it,, TWO SUNS!!! The suns danced through the clouds painting beautiful autumn colours onto the tree's fields mountains and valleys. I tentitavley looked through the lens, and BANG, there where all my shi&*y pictures, just as before :-(

I drove about 800 miles over the last 3 days, and this is all I got, theres a fonebox just like this near my local chip shop.

Cheer up 'Patters' Have a go at my caption shot. This is a good clear shot anyway and maybe you didn't capture any images on camera but they are all logged in your memory. Sylv.

Oh, and did I mention the royal national wildlife preserve had just realeased 100,000 tame kingfishers? They kept sitting on peoples heads like the pigeons at trafalgar square.

Great phone box! Super colour too!
Thank you so much for cheering me up - I thought it was just me who took crap pix. I have no intention of visiting the lakes, Kimmeridge or Rannoch Moor because I can take shots of drizzle and fog at home...
Very nice phone box though...

So you're saying that photography isn't your, ahem, calling (see what I did there?) But seriously, we all go through exactly the same sort of downer (I know I do) and while Shane might have offered the most succinct comment, don't take it to heart. After all, look at all those clicks.

Patters, you've captured a traditional piece of Britain (which was nice)! Click

Son, hello son

Your photos are so bad that when I look at them, (Accidentally of course), I normally vomit for 9 days solid. Get your camera and drag it behind a motorbike from a piece of rope until it is no more. I have seen piles of rotton vegitation with no photographic skills and no eyes take better shots than you. Smash your camera into a billion pieces and replace it with a round of ham and pickle sandwiches and see if you can't get better results.

If it is a phone box you want to take a photo of get the whole box, if it is the hills in the background get the hills. But is your are trying to do landscape move far enough away so that the total photo is in focus eg learn about DOF.
But then again you could be just looking for sympathy and using any c**p photo to get it.

what are you bitchin' about patters, the fone box is in focus, the wall is in focus AND level with the horizon, replace the sky with a less boring one and voila......cheer up man!

I like the red contrasting against the wall and background. A fine picture of what can only be regarded as a 'Phonebox'
PS These boxes were actually manufactured in Kirkintilloch outside Glasgow - see below

If this was a BT phone box that was working, then hang onto the pic, it could worth money, as this a rare site!
