On the opposite side of Hope Square and facing the Brewer's Quay building is a pleasant corner to sit and eat. There's a choice of the Crow's Nest Bistro or next door to the left, The Monkey's Fist. We all know what a crow's nest is, but I was intrigued as what a monkey's fist was! Looking it up, it’s nothing to do with monkeys, but is a type of knot, so named because it looks somewhat like a small bunched fist. It is tied at the end of a rope to serve as a weight, or can be used as an ornamental knot.
