Also homework with the lighting box. This is a horse on a small pen holder. Some editing was done, for example, the background was pink but I found this colour more fitting.

I much prefer this to your previous upload from the light box. The subject may be tiny but you have captured the feel of it rearing up, and the placement against the light is good too. I like the fact that you have allowed space for it to kick into. I would prefer to see a little bit more space beneath its hooves, and I would also prefer to see a true square frame - not-quite-square looks a bit flabby, loose, to my eye. The two points go together and I will attempt a Mod - but I appreciate that in practical terms there may have been circumstantial reasons for the placement and crop.
I love what you've done to the colour, I really have difficulty in imagining pink here!
Two Mods uploaded. True square really does look more taut, tidy to me. And I couldn't imagine pink - but I could imagine b&w!
Nicely done. I like Moira's idea of the full square crop, and other than that, I would sharpen this for crisp edges. Your original is probably fine, just needs sharpening here on the site. Your exif data does not show the aperture used, - can you let us know?
Quite effective this one. Strong but obviously contrived. However, it works. You needed a bit more space at the bottom so the hoof is not cropped and one or two bits of the silhouette need a clean up with the clone tool.
Hi guys, sorry that I am only replying now. Thank you for all your comments. The aperture was 4.0 . I enjoyed this photo very much.
