"House for an Art Lover" - Vol. 1

By RonnieAG
I thought I'd show some images of the House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, and the venue for our daughter's (Pamela) wedding on 9th. August.
Although only built between 1989 and 1996, the House is an accurate interpretation of a design by Charles Rennie Macintosh who died in1928. Although the House was originally intended as domestic dwelling by Macintosh, when built certain liberties were taken as it was to operate as a commercial premises. But the overall appearance inside and out is faithful to his style and his design.
On my next posting I shall show some of the interior design features.

V 1: view across the gardens.
V 2: the approach to the south facade from the east.
V 3: detail of the design on the south facade (image from Oct. 2008)

My thanks to all who contributed so humorously and responded so generously to my last posting.......Caption Competition.......loved so many of the funny suggestions and again thanks to all for playing along.

Ronnie.

Morning Ronnie. Lovely series from the intriguing, almost secret peek at the building in V1 to the full on view that includes his typical decorative style in V3, a real celebration of the genius of CRM.

I was there for lunch earlier this year and found it difficult to get an angle I liked.
Between V1 and V2 you've shown the main building shape and gardens but I love V3
which sums up CRM style - you've framed this very well with the shrubs nicely placed.
