'House of Manannan'

By TrevBatWCC
Leaving the village of Bride in the north of the Isle of Man the coach outing took us to Peel, about halfway down the west coast of the island. The coach dropped us close to here, the 'House of Manannan' (Thie Vanannan) museum. It tells the story of Manannan, the islandís mythological sea god, and guides you through the island's rich Celtic, Viking and maritime past. Though it was open, didn't go inside as wanted to explore as much of Peel in the time we had there, but thought these sculptures outside the museum were worth photographing.
V2 is looking back toward the museum from alongside the harbour & marina.

Thanks for the virtual tour of IOM - so much history and lots of museums.
Coach tours are great for the quick visit to places - then we can return if we want more.
The sculptures do look impressive.

Because we live in enforced politically correct times, the Isle of Man has now been renamed Person Isle. Please add this new tag to all your images of the island formerly known as Man.Wink
