Here I was trying out my new Nikon D7200 for some bird photography while at home fiddling with my gear. I fitted on the Nikkor 200-500mm lens and took to my terrace in search of a shot or two.
Soon enough this House Sparrow came to settle some 30 yards away perched on a pole making for a good shot. Maxed at full zoom (500mm) I bagged a few frames as he chirped away ..... choosing this shot as the best of the lot. The shot was cropped by a good 50% to fill the frame better and I was quite impressed with the amount of detail the D7200's remarkable sensor was still able to retain, the only downside being that the camera is rather "slow" for birds in flight photography as I eventually came to discover - unfortunately it is not fast enough to cope with the demands of birds in flight shots. However it remains a great tool to use for static bird photography as this frame shows.
Viewing large is recommended.
