Some days a lack of sunshine means that some species of flies will just to sit on leaves not moving about much, great if you don't want an early start. This was one of those days and this species of hoverfly, sometimes known as the 'sunshine fly' was not very active at all and fortunately, just within reach of the camera as it sat on a bramble leaf. It was also sheltered enough that wind was not an issue so no clamps were required to steady the leaf. A couple of feet away from also sat a bloody nosed beetle which I will post next time.

Many thanks for the votes and comments on the previous upload of the Large White butterfly and especially to Alan (Alan_Baseley), Pamela (pamelajean) and (Arvophoto) for your User Awards, so very much appreciated.
