Hoverfly holiday

By accipiter
Many thanks for the CC's on my last upload.
A couple of weekends ago I went to visit my family on their farm near Winchester. The idea was to have a couple of quiet, relaxing days off which I desperately needed and to spend some time taking shots of flowers in the lovely garden.
I stepped out next morning in fine weather - there were hoverflies everywhere in startling numbers! I took a shot of the first rose I came across (V1) to document this, then wandered off to try and achieve a shot of honeysuckle that looked elegant and lovely - one of my long term failures. I took (V2) what I felt was a reasonable shot (for me) only to discover that I had been hacked by a hoverfly (V3).
I went off to try the Clematis but things were getting worse (V4) so I went to find the lily's (V5) and I finally gave up and took a few pictures of Hoverflies (V6).
Hope you like them. A

Skilful workflow, I especially like the first and the last images because of their crowd and emphasized honey colour.
Thank you for the lovely comment on my shot.

Great series - super macro and action in some of the photos. They are such photogenic insects - we don't have them in NZ.

Blooming marvellous!
I do love V1 and V6.
Also you probably couldn't have got V2/3 if you were trying!
Some days we don't capture quite what we expect but get great images.

A superb set featuring some of my favourite models. I particularly like 5 & 6 where they are on the lillies.

A superb set of images, Arthur, each and every one of them should be uploaded in their own right. Carol

An excellent and humorous story board of images, Arthur, and, as Carol says, each strong enough to stand alone.

That garden sounds like a real haven for hoverflies, this is a really cracking set of images of which your lead is my favourite

Wow - that seems to be a crowded hoverfly holiday place. A good set of images,
