How Green Is My Valley.

By UrbaneMagick
Firstly, many thanks for the advice on layering..... Crikey that's an art form!!

I've uploaded this in colour and left it open for modifications.

Version two is my own attempt at layers with some usual processing to finish off with...I've tried to give it some atmosphere and changed the environment accordingly...... does it work ?

I'd appreciate any viewpoints on my own modification (v2) and also look forward to seeing your own .

My dads 74th this weekend, so he's around with ma from tomorrow through to Sunday...so catch up with you all on Sunday evening ..I'll go though all your photos & vote and comment then Smile

Gareth.

Great scene. Do like the detail in the black and white version.

Cracking shot !!......& a nice mono version, with a great sky !!

Couldn't resist a mod. though !!..........generally, in landscapes the distant objects tend to be lighter in tonal values, whereas the foreground tends to be heavier in tones, which in
a mono image adds a sense of enhanced depth !!.........so I've gone down that route to induce some depth, & a heavy sky to add a bit of mood !!

I've just used the previous formula of selecting various areas, & adjusting the 'Levels' for each one........woccha fink ?????.Smile

Ooo...I DO like what you've done in V2, Gareth. Very dramatic and great mix of light.

Superb original to start off with in V1, by the way.

Hey, please wish your dad a very happy birthday from me, will ya?
