A short distance and less than a minute from the squero we saw this boat with an hydraulic winch moving that thing, whatever it was.

So now know you know how things get moved about, and also that boatmen have nerves of steel as their winch boat tilts.

Nothing is easy in Venice, I’m always fascinated by the way they build, renovate, move furniture and take away refuse…great precision needed to manoeuvre that skip. Well photographed.
