Humor ...not humor

By gss
Today [on google translate] I have noticed what "humor" [Romanian "umor"] means in English. So today, it's not about humor but about Humor Monastery.
Do not know from what it had this name. Seems from a river, as nearby there is a town called "Gura Humorului" [=the mouth of the river Humor].
It is a small monastery but very beautiful. 20 years ago, all that remained from the initial monastery were the church [then, a parish church] and the bell tower, built ~ 100 yearts after the church. In 1991 became again monastery, and since then some cells and another chapel were built.
I must upgrade an information; told you there are 6 painted churches from Bukovina inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list; as 2 were restored recently, now they are 8 (Humor, Moldoviţa, Voroneţ, Suceviţa, Probota, Pătrăuţi, Arbore, St.George Suceava). Apart them, there are another 12-15 other being totally or partially outside painted with frescoes, all realized between 1500-1600 [especially 1530-1585].
Humor was not a princely church, but the foundation of the first nobleman of the Principality of Moldavia, the Chancellor Toader Bubuiog. Was built and painted in 1530, one of the first on the list of the outside painted. The church has a particularity: its porch having only 2 openings, case very rare [in general having an impair number]. Has no steeple but a very rich iconographic program [siege of Constantinople, Last judgment, and case unique the "Hymn to the Virgin inspired by the poem of Patriarch Sergius of Constantinople relating to the miraculous intervention of the Theotokos in saving the city from Persian conquest in 626.". Ruler Vasile Lupu added a tower outside the church in 1641. The ruins of the original cells can be seen as high basements. It is a monastery for nuns dedicated to the Dormition of Virgin Mary, or Theotokos.
The village is a suburban village component of the little town Gura Humorului, on a secondary valley towards north. Towards south, in the same town, there is another suburban village called Voroneţ: there, there is the most famous painted monastery of Bukovina, Moldavia, and Romania, but about it have to wait until tomorrow.
