Hungry fox

By Rach1970
Hi everyone!

At last some photo opportunities and the time to spend on them. This little chap was really enjoying chewing on a bit of old bone in the snow first thing this morning out in the back garden.

Thanks for dropping by,

Lovely capture Rachel - if you enable mods I can upload one I've done to darken it slightly and bring out the colour

I would suggest a contrast boost to improve the quality of this photo. It looks a little washed out at the moment. This can be done in curves, by making a shallow 'S' curve on the graph or, by using levels and pulling in both the black point and white point triangles to meet the bulk of the histogram. With levels the mid point slider can be moved as well to lighten or darken the mid tones of the photo.

Thanks everyone. Have enabled mods Helen, thanks. Look forward to seeing your version. Thanks Alan. Thought I would upload this one straight from camera apart from the crop and framing. It was taken through the window hence the washed out appearance - need to get the Windowlene out Smile Will try to edit it for a possible further upload. Thanks for the advice.

Reckon your windows are a lot cleaner than mine! Love the pose and you have composed the shot very well. Will be interested to see Mods. The suggestions sound useful.

This does need a bit more contrast, and less brightness - I might have time for a play later on. Good to see you around again.

Curves and a bit of burn - he's a gorgeous colour and his coat is in excellent condition for this time of the year

I've just added a Mod, sorry for the delay, the computer wanted to do a big scan...
I've added a note of what I did. I forgot to add that it looks as though your file was not saved at maximum quality - I hope you know that we are no longer restricted to 400MB???

Thanks again everyone. In particular, thanks to Helen, Moira and Alan for the mods. Very interesting and I've now played around a bit with the original shot. No, Moira I hadn't realised we weren't restricted on size now - thanks for that Smile

I didn't realise we weren't restricted either!
Lovely capture of this fox, the windows do make it a big greyish but oh well! Don't clean the windows it doesn't make it any better and only makes me feel guilty. I've had Lyns' daughters Harriet and Grace writing their names and drawing pictures on my steamed up windows today so now they look really good!
