Not many of these left. The work horse of the Battle of Britain. Shot down more aircraft than the Spitfire, but there were more of them.

Slower, less manoeuvrable, and more traditional construction, of course. Less glamorous: I find myself thinking that the pilots were steadier, less flashy: but, of course, it must have been a matter of which squadron received which aircraft.

And none of that takes away from either the bravery and skill of the pilots, or the excellence of the aeroplane...

And because of that traditional construction, could take more battle damage as many bullets/shells just went straight through and, apparently, a much more stable gun platform. Still difficult to believe the courage of people going up in these things.
