Thank you all for your most appreciated, honest and on the odd occasion amusing comments following yesterdays upload.

The best comment coming from Iain(howdog) I quote: Well it time for a hot iron to be thrust into my eyes! Art is art and whiskey is whiskey but i can't see why you all like this shot!
Nathan your passed work is spot on, but this i just can't get my head around it. Why all the votes! I may as well pack up and sell my equipment!

For those of you who thought the pebble looked like an egg, a trip to Specsavers may be in order GrinGrinGrin

Well today's image is a little more conventional captured in Herne Bay only a short while ago.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day, the sun is trying to rear its head so maybe a bright day on the horizon.

Regards as always

If Iain is selling up - my husband wants a new long lens!!!GrinGrin I love this picture; lovely soft colours and memories of summer - or is that hope that summer is coming! I always wanted a beach hut but never lived near a sandy beach.

Wow Nathan controversy at it's best. Photography is not about subject content but about the light and exposure used in your image IE painting with light, it is also your own special interpretation of what you alone saw when you decided to try and capture the said image. The question being is the subject matter sharp Check Yes. do you have composition in your image Check Yes. Did you have light enough to portray the whole image Check yes. Did everyone interpret what you saw correctly. Check no. Well who's inability is that then?

Nathan its sharp, well exposed, with strong com positional lines. But the subject matter is not a flower or a mountain or even a portrait , what it is , is an image that's based on your artistic ability, you did your best to capture what you saw.

If anyone on EPZ can tell me voting is fair please stand up and tell me. If anyone on EPZ can say awards are fair please do the same. Nathan an opinion is something based on someone else s inability to interpret your work the same way as you did. Regards ..John

Well you do like to stir things up Nathan! Getting a reaction is better than nothing!
Beach huts for me always make me wonder; who owns them?; are they young with
children with buckets and spades?; are they old just escaping somewhere to read and reflect?

Great image, for me John (Johnke) has said it all about images like this. I would further add that to be able to enjoy the freedom to be openly critical of an image is something we should not take for granted. There is much talk of what people are saying and doing on Twitter, Facebook etc and not all of it good and that restrictions should be imposed on such sites, I think we should accept that in photography, as in many art forms subjectivity plays a huge part and we are not going to like or understand everything we see but we should accept difference and move on. I also admire and defend Iain for saying what he did even if I don't agree with him.

Leeds hasn't seen blue for a long time. Must admit ialso lovethese sheds.
Their simplicity are their strength.
And you even managed a decent shadow for Saturday.
Hi Nathan, like the balance between RH hut & LH shadow and the little tease of the sea. Nice one, Si.

I really like this capture and it tells me that you have an eye for an image.

The attraction of photography is the diversity of creativity, however where there is creativity it will always be subjective.
If we were all conformists to the stereotypical single thought of what make a good capture, then it would be time to sell up and join a crochet group at the local community centre.

Please keep doing what pleases you, as clearly it pleases a lot of other people who view your images.

Kindest Regards, always
