Hymalayan Blue Poppy (Meconopsis Grandis)

By carpmanstu
I saw this yesterday and just had to get a shot of it,the colours were wonderful in the sun and after a bit of research (and help) I think I've got the correct identification?? My aim was to show the contrast in colour and texture between the petals and the stamens,I'm happy with the shot but as usual I am happy to receive any comments good or bad, hope you like it anyway. Hi Stuart, - a nice shot, and placing it central works for composition.

Theres a slight blue cast which can be addressed as in the mod, makes it a little warmer. Auto white balance is usually fairly reliable, but if you shoot in RAW, you have the ability to alter, or correct and whote balance anomalies during post processing.

heres a link to how to do it with a JPEG:

The shot is sharp and well exposed, and the colour cast for me is the only suggestion I would have.

Hi Stuart.. like everyone says a lovely image.

I would like to have seen the yellow pollen in the centre of the image in focus, had you have used a smaller aperture, f11 or so, your depth of field would have been greater and included slightly more detail.

Still a nice shot though.
