I am Giant

By cooky
Looking out over Rochdale and into the distance over Rochdale and out towards Derbyshire and Cheshire. Greenbooth and the higher Naden Reservoirs in the Naden Valley above Rochdale afford stunning views from moor to urban/industrial landscape and then beyond...

The ubiquitous pylons and my giant on the right with the foxgloves echoing its shape and my mini giants in the foreground!

I have previously posted moorland and forest images from this location, a very varied landscape.

Very evocative capture here Kath, the giant pylon looks animated and pulling the wires by itself. Amazing view from up there. I won’t say ‘is there a colour version?’, despite hoping that there is…..am getting used to this inventive mono world 🙂

Great capture and view, I prefer wind turbines to giant pylons, the're much more elegant.

it is almost Beauty and the Beast in a landscape format. We are ruled by energy and your Giant is first minister.

This isn't an area I've ever explored - maybe a Photo Art Book project is called for? 'Moors in Mono' or 'Darkness of Light' ? I'm looking forward to getting a copy! Andy

A wonderful vista here, Kath, you can see for miles & miles! 👍 Must be viewed large 😃
I'm with Sylvia, and find turbines more photogenic!

The Giant appears to be lassoing something on the other shore.

The lens distortion (?) makes it look as if the pylon is hauling on the cables, dragging in the catch...

Thank you all for your comments and clicks and your award Rich.

The camera, my little walkabout, was at widest setting to capture everything but it does appear a little fish eye! The pylon appears to be leaning but the lower reservoir wall is level and however tweaked it remains on a tilt! I'll be up there again soon and I shall examine its foundations! 😉🤣

At the other end there are wind turbines which I've already posted, I agree much more photogenic!

Power over all yet becoming a
thing of the past as more underground cables are layed. Mind you, 8n this case, they might have to be floated on the water. Smile
Smashing composition, Kath with your trademark processing.
