I Don't Dive

By kaybee
But I do visit my local garden centres aquatic department.

I love this tank - it is so colourful and full of variety.
But the tank costs 750 and does not come with the couple of dozen corals (at about 40 a time) or the fish.
So I take a couple of shots each time I go before somebody snaps it up

It is not hard to take this kind of shot - just put the lens up against the glass so you don't get reflections

I love all the colours even if you didn't dive to take the photo. Well done.

Nicely done - this isn't easy. I remember doing this in an aquarium in Germany, as you say, lens up tight against the glass.
I like the fish at the top, it seems to be trying not to catch your eye.

Lovely and clear and colourful. Smile
I tried this at an aquarium on the weekend but it was too dark to get anything good.

Great shot. I had tried taking a close up of a tank and yes got reflections, what about the sensor which stops you getting too close or doesn't it recognise glass?? Love it!!

Thanks everyone.

Margaret - the glass is not seen/recognised. Just get the lens up against the glass and make sure that the subject is further away than the closeset focus distance of your lens. You will probably have to turn up the ISO quite a bit though
