A lot of clearing up yesterday after the gales, I lost one pine tree, two eucalyptus, my beloved lemon tree, one clematis and numerous other small plants, and still have a lot to sort out, but Iím getting there slowly. Apologies for only voting yesterday, but all day was spent clearing/tidying the garden as well as possible.
Something good came out of yesterday, though. I was clearing the pool when I saw a tiny critter crawling up the side, but it was too small to see what it was. I scooped it onto a leaf and took it indoors, because there was every likelihood that it would have been blown away if I had tried to photograph it outside. I took a few images, and then realized that it was the tiniest and cutest little clanger (weevil) that I have ever seen. I managed a few clicks before it flew onto the window, obviously wanting to get back outside. I was delighted when I discovered that I had managed to capture it with its wings unfurled, ready to take off. Vís 2 & 3 are not good images, but it was too small for my little point and shoot to do it any justice. I have included V.4 as an indication of its size, taken alongside a sewing pin.
