I Need Feedback!

By patrickfarrell
I want to take a series of shots like this one for school ( its going to be a major piece so it needs to be spot on!). I am using just a lamp for the lighting and want this type of effect. If anyone could give me any tips to improve it would be much appreciated!

Very nice lighting. What I would improve upon is your eye. The eye would be better looking straight forward in this type of shot and make sure that the focus is dead on the eyes. You always want your focus point to be the eyes in a portrait, even this style. Nice work.

Thanks Heaps David! yeah the eyes a little off centre, i'll factor that in next time!

look at the camera. maybe shootign in b+w will add something extra?

I think what might improve this style of image is to move your light source more to the front of your face so that your other eye is just visible and no more. Unless of course you want it blacked out. I would also take off the false face....LOL JUST KIDDING!!

This works well. Would agree with exclusive that you could try it in B&W.

Great shot.

Yeah thanks Babara, i'm thinking i'll do a series of shots like this in B/W but i still like the colour shot as well, so i'll probably do both!
