......I could fly...
Paige in front of a fan, holding on to her hat for dear life Wink
Lit with one studio softbox slightly left of camera, desaturated a tad & finished in photoshop.
Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive criticism is always welcome & again, I have allowed mods so have a mess with it if you feel the urge Wink

She's gorgeous Janet. Beautiful shot beautifully lit. But surely the softbox was right of camera not left? And maybe would have been better if the butterfly were directly in her line of sight. But that's just me being Mr Picky. Smile

Lovely portrait, super pose and great lighting. Pretty model well captured, like the use of the fan.

Beautiful shot, lovely tone.
I don't do portrait, and know absolutely nothing about studio, I can't give you any Constructive criticism. One thing just occurred to me, from her head angle, and the straight line from her pupil, should the butterfly be lower? Take a look, Janet. This is absolutely new territory for me, I could be wrong.
BTW, thanks for the comments on the stairs..

Nope Rog the softbox was almost straight on to her,I did modify it a bit with a lump of card though,a kinda softbox snooty thing what I did did collapse moments after I pressed the shutter Wink

You & Rog had the same thoughts Jasmin...I did dangle the plastic Butterfly on a bit of fishing wire for her to look at,maybe she was looking at something else past the it,wishing she could fly too Wink
Thanks for all your comments guys, nice to hear from you all.

Paige is looking quite ' the lady ' Janet. Love the look - but don't think it needs the butterfly.

Beautiful and I do prefer without the butterfly. Maybe if the butterfly was paler and just barely there.

Doesn't need the butterfly, your little model (now growing up fast ) is a cracking portrait, it's you just doing your fafhing.

I'm going to go against the flow and say that I love the addition of the butterfly. Without it, it's still a superb portrait, but there's something wonderfully whimsical with it in that I'd hate to see it go!

I've done a quick mod where I've repositioned the butterfly, so it's more in her line of sight, as well as desaturating it a touch to tone it down and make it less distracting. I've added one of my own skies as a (masked from the skin) background texture (just to reinforce the flying/sky connection) and given the whole image a colour lookup adjustment layer - I used 'Futuristic Bleak' as I really like the tones it gives. I set the blend mode of the CL layer to Darken.

Oh, I also cropped a fraction off the top of the image, having moved the butterfly down. It just looked better balanced doing that Smile

On the other hand, if I'd taken this image myself I'd be chuffed to bits. Does it need a mod? Nah Smile But I did one anyway seeing as you'd enabled playing Grin

Thanks everyone.
Thankyou for your UA's,Mark,Sarah & John,great compliments.
Nice mod Robert, thankyou, nice warm colours but just a little too much glow for me.

Hi Tanya, thankyou for your comments, much appreciated. Your mod for me generally is a tad on the cool side,'futeristic bleak' is a good name.. but I do like the repositioned Butterfly just over her elbow, yes, cropping a little from the top does help the overall balance & whimsical is always a good word, especially to describe Paige Grin
It's always good to allow mods,I do think there is value to that ePz feature as I like to see how other folk see things & doing a mod on someone else's image is really good practice...I do it sometimes with my heart in my mouth, hoping that the OP will appreciate something I have changed.
