Icy Dawn 2

By ghibby
Another image from my sunrise visit to Jökulsárlón in south east Iceland. This image was taken about fifteen minutes before the previous upload. The light was a little softer and these icebergs much closer to the lakes edge showing a degree of transparency to the water. I used live view with depth of field preview to ensure the image was pin sharp from back to front while using the largest aperture I could to maximise image quality.

Very little processing work, just contrast optimisation to the RAW file in adobe camera raw. I used a 0.3ND grad in the raw processing to bring out sky detail a touch and balance the light levels from foreground to background.

Exposure 0.6 Sec @ F13 ISO100 and 28mm Focal length.

An amazing capture. Such a calm but cold atmosphere. What a shame man is wrecking places of such beauty.
