If you go down.....

By ringyneck
....to the woods tonight. Beware !
The sun at last came out at 7 pm last night.Quick, get out see what's about. Went to see if any more Butterflies were around. FAILURE. Started on various wild goose chases, including trying to match Bevzed's buzzard. He was flying around the little local wood. Another failure, but all that was there was a pair of....THESE.Think I know what was going on but not sure. The one was leading and the other stayed almost locked on.
Could Not get both in one frame and believe it or not they DID move too fast,as it was so dark in the wood at 8pm that all the settings I tried showed up a blur on the FACE.Not that there was a face!
In the end it needed some flash.
I have left it the size as shot,as the out of focus stuff helps to lead the eye into the centre.
IF YOU CAN GET IT LARGE,PLEASE DO.

Them there buzzards aren't easy are they!
Butterflies? Pooft .. I'll leave them to you Keith!
These things? well .. I'll leave them to you too being as you've done it a lot better than me! Smile

Good one Keith, especially in that light, and the flash didn't interfere and blow it out,
Well done,

Well that's the last time I go down to the woods!!
You did a great job here in what looks like very difficult conditions.
Well done you.

Well, you did a good job under the prevailing conditions. Many macros of small critters just show them close up on a twig or blade of grass or filling the frame; very nice, of course, but I like to see them in their habitat - like this.
