If you go down to the woods today...

By saltireblue
More images from the Swedish car cemetery deep in the woods of the Baastnes region.
My last of these for a while, I will find some other subject matter with which to bore you.Wink

If anyone can name the make/model of the lead image and version #2 then there will be no prize, just the satisfaction of being clever.Tongue

Thanks for bothering.

Superb, Malc. Could well be better thus than in monochrome.

The opener is without doubt a Ford, the upper one of the pair of mating Corsairs (the lower one being white, progeny probably pink Smile)

V2 is probably an Opel Kadett 1 (pre-1940), though German Wikiwotsit displays a photo of a postwar Moskvitch which was almost a carbon copy. The Opel Olympia was slightly larger but similar. I remember a Kadett in Stepney in the mid-1950s. There were quite a few Opels in the Swedish cemetery, mostly Olympia Rekords of the mid-50s (the bodywork has decayed badly but the toothy grin remains).

Lots of pre -1940 cars continued in use until 1960 or beyond; some even returned to production after WW2 (VW Beetle, Ford Anglia, CitroŽn 2CV) . . .

Love V2, Darth Vader after a bit too much of the red stuff.
Main upload - no idea what it is, but it's a rare occurrence there of colour shining through the green mould.

Have enjoyed your pics from here before malc but these are the best yet. Fab - recognised the Corsair light cluster before I read the comments.

My head hurts after trying to recall any of these poor relics Malc, I did try but hopelessly lost in the sands of time. My memory not the old cars.

V2 is my favourite here Malc. It would be interesting to see a moody mono of this too...
