If in doubt it's not a bad idea just to remember that photography's literal translation is to "write with light", with that in mind I opted to just concentrate on the amazing almost holy display of light rays that had managed to burst its way through a thick covering of cloud over the moor. The contrast range of course is huge but by concentrating on the illuminated areas the tonal range of the area photographed is reduced to just about manageable amounts. Hot spots in reflection have been reduced by careful positioning of boulders a technique I use quite frequently to make a high contrast scene kinder on the eyes.

Pentax 67II, 90-180 zoom, 0.45ND hard grad, f/22 at 1/8 sec, Velvia.

A very striking mono image. Love the way you have captured the light. this is where I want to go with photography!

The hardest of of light conditions to capture well. The trick with the rocks is clever and it's always an idea to use some part of an image to block the highlights a little.
As ever an image to make you think.

This is beautiful, really stunning in its simplicity.

It's nothing sort of a disgrace that it has so few votes Sad
