In A Hole in the Ground ---

By MrsS
In a hole in the ground - - -
.... there lived a Hobbit!

Either that or it was Warney chasing after something else that he'd dropped!! Wink

Spent a really pleasant day yesterday in the company of both halves of "Peaklight" (Messrs Le-Vers and West) plus MikeH, Warney and VintageRed (the two Nicks). Along with MrS of course (well someone had to do the driving)

And for once, Curbar played ball!! The early light was raaather nice, along with a fabulous layer of mist in the valley.

I really liked the little hole under the lip of the rock and it just brought to mind that if it had a green door, we might expect to find Bilbo Baggins behind it. (If you look carefully in the LARGE version, you can even see Mount Doom in the distance - - - I think it was just the light catching the hillside - - but hey, who's checking!! lol)

This was the first time I'd played with all my new toys, particularly the shady thingies and the peepy thingy! Oh, and that nasty teacher made me use manual focus!

Usual processing in C1LE and CS2 - - and the Artic Butterfly DID work - - only had to remove one bunny - - p'haps now they won't be able to breed and that one will just die of old age! DAMN - - found another one - - get the shotgun, mother!! Smile

0.80sec @f16 ISO100 Lee 2 and 3 stop ND soft grads

Let me know what you think - - thanks for looking - - nearly Friday! Have a gr8 day

Cheers!

Looks like you did well with the very early light, nice golden colours in that sky. If you look really hard, I think you can just make out Warney's camera bag in that hole Wink x

Nicely done, well handled exposure too.

Love the f/g detail and colour set against the misty middle. The light on the b/g hills is a great bonus.
I had a go at mist (at last)over the weekend and found that Manual Focus was the order of the day as well.

Nice one, Keith.
