In Bluebell Wood

I've taken to carrying the camera and a single lens with me whenever I walk the dog for our daily exercise; albeit I most often set out with a specific image or target in mind. Here the plan was always going to be Bluebells - a subject I've never been happy with on previous tries. In this case I am relatively happy albeit I am unsure about the decision to include the leaf that is prominent in the bottom right of the frame. My aim was to try and capture, for me at least, the essence of bluebells. The long leafs are part of this and therefore I chose to include it in the composition albeit I now can't decide if it distracts rather than adds...

I would say this is the best shot of a single bluebell I have ever seen. Adam. By the way someone else told me about the whereabouts of the Herons on the River weaver so once this lockdown is over!!!!!!!!! David

Adam, I'd be tempted to keep that leaf, but perhaps tone it down and blur it slightly more so that it is not quite so prominent, but don't get rid of it completely, it acts as a support for the flower.

I would agree with Malc with ref to the leaf Adam.
Nice dof to isolate the flower, that light has just dropped in the right place behind the flower. Super detail on the Bells.

Agree with Malc as well ...having the stem fade into the background would be nice. Essence of blubell wonderfully delivered !
