In memory of the Revolution

By KingBee
Something completely different today.

The American Revolutionary War, or American War of Independence, lasted from 1775 until 1783. It's not a war many of us in the UK give much thought to, I'm sure, but in New England there are several reminders of it, not least this example in a cemetery in Chester, Vermont of a monument to someone who served and lived to tell the tale. Private Hall was 12 when the war started and probably got involved fairly soon thereafter (on the assumption that if he could use a musket, he could fight).
