In my Back Yard

By clevercloggs
Had a black & white of this up before but didn't like it although I like the image as a whole. This image shows a bit more definiton in the big ships in the centre and amazingly enough the sand colour in the fg, but behind theships it has turned all silver.

By the way the title refers to the fact that some houses exist in the fg with a garden overlooking the harbour. From this harbour rocks are transported to the big off shore projects in Dubai.

Taken from about 500 feet high in an ultra light

I like the little traces of colour. I don't think it would work well without those. I can't say I would want to live on that particular shore.

i think they were living there before Dubai boomed and the need for rock went sky high.
this rock habour has not been there long. initially the rock were transported by lorries. The sheer volume of rock required makes it economical to ship them out.

Thank you Tony and Dianne.
I like the image too, although its estetic value is next to none.
I assume it has a more historical one as not surprisingly the harbour is destined to be redeveloped as part of a large tourist resort.

Well, this one I certainly like. really a lot to look at here. Suppose a color photo doesn't come closer to sepia than this. excellent !

Hi Clevercloggs. Nice portfolio but whats a 'ultra light' and at 500ft ?

If the aircraft hasn't got at least two engines and the pilot dosen't speak English a a mother tongue....I wait for the bus.

an ultra light is one of those build it yourself planes and in most cases has just one engine.
Luckily the pilots are all trained well and speak either fluent english or it is their native language.

look at the image called the "rope battling pilot". That should give you an idea of the size of one of the planes I use and the american pilot.
