Taken whilst on my Christmas holiday in 2016, when I was staying in Ostend, Belgium. On Boxing Day we had a coach outing visiting here, Ypres in the province of West Flanders in Belgium. During the First World War, much of the city was reduced to rubble, and many of the destroyed buildings were rebuilt in the same style as they'd been. The city hosts historic buildings such as the Flanders Fields Museum which is located in the reconstructed Cloth Hall and tells the story of the First World War. A must to visit is the very moving Menenpoort (Menin Gate), an Iconic British Memorial to the Missing, inscribed with 54,896 names. The Memorial I uploaded images of to EPZ shortly after that holiday, but thought this image was appropriate for Remembrance Sunday and is of 'The British Grenadier Bookshop' window display on Menestraat, about 150 metres or so from the Menin Gate.
