In remembrance of and in gratitude to our brave men and women who, with our allies, laid down their lives for our country in the two World Wars and in other conflicts. Our support and thanks also go out to our men and women still in active service in various parts of the world, who lay their lives on the line each day.

Thank you all for your support of my yesterdays upload and a special thank you to Annette (annette38) for her User Award - all very much appreciated Smile

Well composed... Very fitting and a great idea with that famous painting as a background.

Thank you, Annette - I took a photo of the painting, Debut les Morts, when we visited Station 62, Sanctuary Wood, Ypres three years ago and have used it as a backdrop to a digitally manipulated Poppy from my archives.

And a big thankyou from me only 24 days now till I retire after nearly 35 years service. 5 skirmishes and 2 wars, not bad and thats not counting NAAFI punchups
