In retreat

A small comment on the events of today across the Pacific Ocean.

These little guys were on this geranium leaf for about 3 days and even survived a strong storm. There are three more under the leaf. As time passed their numbers dwindled and skeletons were left, until only two remained. I'm not sure if they ate each other or shed their outside shell enabling them to take off. I also considered a spider that lurked close by but it would have taken the insect back to its web.
