In The Morning Light

By Hop-A-Long
I hope I am finding everyone well and happy.Grin
I have been rather busy doing jobs that I would much rather not be doing. Things like painting and decorating, and repairing things that have broken or should I say have "been" broken and trying to capture El Bandito's with big ears in the garden or as my son calls them "The cast of Watership Down". He keeps singing Bright Eyes whenever I go and check the trap. I have opted for a fulcrum style trap which basically has a door that closes behind the carrot thief after it has entered the trap, it is triggered by a small stick which the garden terrorist has to push past to reach the lovely pile of carrots and apples that are waiting for it. The stick is set so lightly it is like a hair trigger, before you say it, I am trying to catch Bugs Bunny's mate and not a Hartley's cousin. Oh good grief, am I showing my age now, can anyone else remember "Pipkins"? with Topov the monkey, Tortoise the err tortoise and Pig the err pig, not forgetting Hartley the Hare which was a Hare and not a Rabbit I would like to point out, which is not what I am having problems with in my garden, Hares that is. Confused yet, I am.
Anyway, I have a trap set up which I built and although nothing has been caught as yet I still have hope. I certainly don't want to kill them, I just want to capture and relocate them where they can live their lives like other bunnies and preferably not eating every plant I have in my garden, the latest victim is the Fig tree which they have completely stripped of bark, I didn't know where to look. That poor tree, completely naked, not a stitch on and out in the snow with only its embarrassed blush to keep it warm. I had considered lending it my spare coat, but sadly I think it has passed to a better garden, somewhere where other trees play harps as they gently flap their wings.
We had such fun together, running around the garden, Figgy in its pot and me in my trainers. Sadly I will never enjoy the fruits my friend gave me again. I'll miss you Figgy.
On that note I must go.

I hope you like the upload, thanks for looking and for any comments.

The early morning light does much to lift this fine composition.

From Carrots to Figs in a single moment of madness. A wonderfully compiled piece of literary tosh, however Andy the image makes up for it.

A great lowlight composition, wonderfully observed and exposed.

P.S. As for harriet the Hare and Topov the Monkey, I think they are residing in Cherry Knowle

A fine dawn, Andy, and a fine photo of it.

The thought of a posse (herd? troop? squadron? army?) of rabbits full of figs is a bit dominant in my thinking right now, since I have read and re-read the tale of your travails (or should that be travailler's tails?)

Wink

Bill

P.S.: I never encountered "Pipkins". But as my mate Daffy would be quick to remind you, all rabbits are DETHPICABLE!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Those colours and tones are just so beatuiful together.

We have a Hare racing around the grounds at the moment - I find the foot prints in the snow. Not a welcome guest if you are a dedicated gardener!
