In the vehicle

By bliba

I work in a company called Vehikel where young people work who for various reasons do not get a job (no school-leaving certificate, migrant background, problems with the law, Covid 19 ......).
Here they are prepared for the labour market, they learn to be punctual at work, learn social interaction, are taught mathematics, German .......... , learn to repair cars.
There are not always exciting repairs stickers/adhesive residues are removed from emergency vehicles, as is the case today.
Not motivating work for the young people as you can see.

Indeed somewhat tedious looking ....but hey someone has to do it .
Your company has a compassionate outlook ..helping these young folks gain important experience . Good on them. A good time to escape to the lake this week ...we are having record heat in the 33-34 range.
Cheers Walt

It looks very boring and tedious work, but if a chance of job is at the conclusion, well worth the effort. It is commendable that your government is at least trying to make employable, Ollie.

Life has some tough lessons, I guess this is one of them. Love the pose / angle, though it took me a moment to work it out.

Well done your company Ollie. Sometimes all anyone needs is a chance and that sets them off on a path.

Excellent shot but glad you gave the explanation.

That is a classic pose for bored male teenagers - if they can get away with it! Despite looking contorted it is surprisingly comfortable, as I know from my own experience WinkWinkWinkWinkWink
He does look as though he is concentrating as well as keeping comfortable. I suspect he did not know you were taking the photo.
I love the original pov, the angle, the excellent b&w and the trailing bootlace Smile

This produced from me….a wry smile…… sixty five years ago last week, Began my six weeks extremely tough National Service Basic Training…. It was filled with hundreds of mundane tasks…. That HAD to be done to the highest standards…. An NCO or an Officer ensured that it was….or else….in a very big, and instant way… No arguing…No sulking… No backing out….. we were all in for two years, like it or not…..

A messy job but nothing like sewage pipe maintenance (which I watched a program on last week). At leas there's plenty of work available in this area as lots of commercial vehicles need de-stickering at the end of their lease areeements.

An interesting write up and a rather comical image that is very good.

Not a very elegant pose! He doesn't look too happy - in fact, looks to be asleep! A fine candid, however, Ollie 😃👍
