.... and has been for a while. It is on the listed buildings 'at risk' register as well. Battersea Power Station has not produced electricity since 1983 and it still awaits re-development. The cost of having to build an extension to the Northern Line (London Underground) is a bit of a deterrent to would be developers. Chelsea FC have had their bid turned down recently in favour of a company which has complied with the previous planning conditions.

No fill-in flash, the foreground lighting is street lighting. 15secs, f5.6, Iso200, 21mm, tripod and remote release.

A big big thanks for the UAs on Rio de Oro, and to all who looked, voted or commented. I was surprised it did that well.

More wet stuff again today... anyone got plans for an Ark!

I think you've found a highly original viewpoint of Battersea, it's certainly not one I've seen before. The neon lighting up of the FG railings ties in with the clouds while the railings echo the towers of Battersea creating quite a harmonious composition. The radial spikes, along with the bridge and the lights reflected on the water all lead the eye into the focal point of the station. I also like that the neon lighting, chipped paint, graffiti and stained bridge foot give a grubby urban feel while the powerstation sits floating above it, in paler lighting, making it beautiful by comparison. It's all well framed by the crane, the railings and the bridge.
I can't think of any constructive criticisms. It's an excellent urban study and one that would be very appealing as a print on your wall. Smile
