Incy Wincy...

By Metalhead
This little critter has spun his web in the kitchen window which joins onto a window plant. I've noticed that he stays completely still, even if the web is nudged, so I got the tripod out and stuck a lens right in his face!!

The beauty of the Sigma 17-70 is its close focus ability. Although it's not a true macro lens when zoomed at the 70mm end your subject can virtually be touching the glass and it will still achieve focus.

With that in mind, and the fact he was staying so still, I chose a small aperture to get as much of him in focus as possible. I think the exposure time was about 30 seconds so you can see how still he was!

His actual size is about 15mm long, full length.

Thanks for looking,

Chris

Excellent - if not a little scary - image. Pin sharp.
