Infinite Possibilities

After the appearance of monoliths in Utah and Romania, and subsequently elsewhere, this appeared overnight at Compton Bay, on the west coast of the Isle of Wight. It was a foggy day when I visited, adding to the mysterious atmosphere, but getting a shot without other spectators in the frame was practically impossible, so I had to clone out a few people.
I'm most grateful to those who voted, commented, gave their precious awards or made modifications to my previous upload, Marsh Mellow. They were all much appreciated.

You have made a good job of the opportunity presented to you. The image comes over with a bit of mystery and atmosphere. Now if the artist had not owned up, endless possibilities?

What a great shot, Allan! The simple composition suits the stark subject perfectly and you've caught the back light remarkably well. The gleaming water and the details of the distant beach rocks and bluffs (and the staircase) add depth to an already arresting image. Bob
