Inky Blue Gold

By hwatt
Loch Na Stainge, Highlands, Scotland

If there was a metaphor for gold at the end of a rainbow this must surely be it. Those autumnal grasses were seared with golden sunlight under heavy inky blue clouds just seconds before a deluge of biblical proportions happened upon us. The dazzling contrasting hues and that gorgeous bubble trail of a lazy river flowing past complete with just a hint of rainbow is as strong an example of transient light you could wish to see.

And my award for capturing the light at the perfect moment. So often, people just shoot, regardless of the light...
