Insects #13 Dragonfly #1 (and maybe only)

By handlerstudio
So enough already with butterflies, as beautiful as are Swallowtails, and as magical Monarchs. So it goes. A few photos of what we call generically dragonflies. I am sure that is not accurate. And, this one is certainly not a classic image of one. In fact, unless you are looking closely, either in the wild or in EPZ on a thumbnail, might be kind of hard to see, like what is this idiot doing putting up a photo of tree bark. Probably what the bug was hoping......and at this point, I am not even sure when or where this was shot.

I would like to thank my almost neighbor Jenn Taggart for her award for my last upload of a couple of Swallowtail images.

I will be away at a craft show this weekend in Marlborough Massachusetts, leaving early tomorrow morning, and next weekend at the Philadelphia Furniture Show. I will be doing little or no uploading in that time, but I will probably have too much time on my hands this weekend in the evening in my motel room, so I should be looking. If anyone wants to see my furniture, my site is http://www.handlerstudio.com

And most of all on this day, with so many of you being Brits, I want to extend my deepest sympathy for what happened today. This world right now can get so crazy....and destructive. Aside from our President. I hope that healing happens for you all.

Peter

His windowed wings help him blend in. Good one Peter.

An excellent set, Peter - the lead image is most unusual - what an amazing creation of Mother Nature.

The lead shot-- amazingly, is the Common Whitetail dragonfly--who likes to perch on rocks for warmth-- She is the female, which makes more sense, re: her name.
The last two are most enviable images of the Ebony Jeweling---damselflies-- very hard to capture!

Kudos for this collection!
