Well.......something different. This is the intricate interior movement of a Georgian pocket watch. The design and craftsmanship is beautiful. At the moment it is not ticking, but is complete, and with a bit of TLC hopefully will be. The style is known as a verge fusee.
The maker of this one is engraved on the brass plate, and is Rich(ard) Francis, Attleburgh, Norfolk. I found that he is traceable on the net, b.1749, d.1816.
I wonder how many items made today will look as good in 250 years time 🙂
V.1 Is the divided case that the watch movement fits into. It was originally gilded, and must have looked very fine as such, in its heyday ⏱
