Inside and Out

By ChiliMan
Hey, people Smile

Here are scenes from a hospital…looking in…and looking out from my dad’s room. Taken at lunchtime today when my mum and I visited him.

High fever on Thursday evening plus faint brownish discolouration when he had a wee. We took him to the A&E that night and he was warded. Urinary tract infection. Poor thing was shaking so much from the infection and fever the nurse had to hold down his arm firmly to get the needle in.

He looked better yesterday and was on oral antibiotics. My bro reckoned my dad’d be discharged today. The shorter your stay, the better…as less likely to pick up stuff. But my dad’s prostate is inflamed and he’s on IV antibiots now and will have a scan of kidneys, bladder and prostate on Monday.

He seemed himself today although tired and a bit weak. But all seems well…*touch wood*. He’s in no discomfort, so that’s good.

My mum and I are gonna see him tomorrow at lunchtime, just like today. My dad’s lunch looked good today. I almost nicked some of his mashed potato Wink

Ok…so…the pics. Here’s a bag of saline hanging around in his room looking bored. Vs 2 and 3 are views out his window…nice clouds, huh?

I feel upbeat about things so nobody worry about anything.

Sorry to hear poor dad is hospitalised, but hopefully he will soon be returning home. I love the composition of V.1, Andrew, and I agree with you, you've captured some wonderful clouds in 2 & 3. fingers crossed for an early release Smile Carol

Having been there, done that...my deepest empathy for your dad. Looks like the hospital is the best call and hopefully he'll have a short illness.
V1 is wonderful....it immediately told a story.

Staying positive is a large part of the battle. All the best . I like the contrast in v1 and the reflections in the saline bag.

V1's a terrific mono. Well controlled tones and descriptive content. I'm glad your dad's on the mend and had such a nice view out of his window whilst being in the hospital. But - you actually ate hospital food!!! Respect. Grin

The clarity in all 3 is excellent. Would never in 100 years have thought of the subject in V1 but it certainly works here!

Yes Andrew,I do find hospitals very depressing places indeed, despite the marvellous jobs most of them do.
I could be on here all day regarding my thoughts on the health service, but best to stay stoom for now !!
An interesting shot for V1.
Far more interesting than these big drips running the NHS !!

Mono was a good choice for this somber image-- so well composed and telling a great story!

Sending all good wishes for your Dad-- and you and your family!

Spot on. This is a difficult image to view, it's what lies (we hope a long way) in the future. Been accompanying a cancer patient to hospital this week - this one cuts into me.

So sorry to hear about your dad, Andrew - and this comes with best wishes for his speedy recovery. Glad you feel upbeat enough to take that great image of his drips! I hope he'll have a laugh about that when he's home and recovered! Those clouds are something special and will hopefully cheer him along.

Andrew: an image that I guess you'd have preferred not to have the opportunity to take. It is excellent (all about #1) and you have made a very good job of a potentially bad situation. Having had both my fatehr-in-law and son in hospital recently (first serious, second uncomfortable) I feel for you, your Dad and Mum. Prayers are with you all...
