Is it a mouse?

By Karuma1970
Its a Golden-Brown Mouse Lemur. (Microcebus ravelobensis)
If Id been asked how many species there were of lemurs before I got interested in going to Madagascar I would probably have guessed about eight. In fact there are just over one hundred that have been identified so far.
The mouse lemur is nocturnal, about 3 inches long and weighs about the same as half a small bar of chocolate. Also they are very difficult to photograph! They scamper like mice but because they are primates they can grip and so climb through bushes.
Id been told that sometimes one had appeared about dusk in a bush. I stalked it for some nights before I eventually got a photo using a ring light that fitted around my lens. This was not one of the very expensive ring flashes. Its not advised to use flash with animals anyway. It was very reasonable, has a good light temperature and is like having a torch fitted to your camera. Excellent.

What big eyes you have, Grandmother. Reminds me of the bright-eyed possum but apparently smaller. Excellent find and thank you for the information.
