Is it gonna hurt?

By Kali
I had the good fortune to spend the day with a Tattoo artist on saturday, and had great fun making up a documentary piece about my day! Not sure my images will go down well here but I thought I'd give one ago...I want to try and capture some of the anticipation you feel just before you get your first Tattoo or piercing...You try to be cool cos your in this quite alien place full of Bikers and Hell's know its going to hurt but youre not sure how much, and it would be soooo unhip to ask....

...and they always snap! their latex gloves sadistically as the advance with their Irons...

Why do we we do this stuff to ourselves!!

Took a few gos to get this! Shutter speed of 1/8, Then I adjusted the curves to make the gloves stand out against the dark B/G.

I had a particular image in my head that I wanted, and its almost there...

What do you guys think?

I think it looks good, I would liked to seen his/her arm less blured if possible to see the details on the tattoo but otherwise a great idea with good impact.

For a minute, I thought you were back at the mortuary. Great movement shot, definitely creates a feeling of pain.

Nice shot, I can see what you were trying to achieve here. Did you have a tattoo done? If so, what & where?!

Cool padds! so many times people fail to try to include/encourage motion blur to indicate movement in their photos, and putting on latex *gloves* is full of movement, pulling, tugging streching twisting (if theyre not powder coated Smile than that final snap when you let the cuff go. I heard that final snap the instant I saw this pic, which means that it totally worked for the geezer can get busy on your anchor......
