"Isabella"

By RonnieAG
Yesterday I opened a forum topic about Rude Photographers at this event, a previewing of some of the participating cars in the Monte Carlo Rally in Buchanan Street, Glasgow. This is one of the few shots I managed without other 'photographers' jumping in front of me and obscuring my attempt. It is of a 1928 Citroen, named Isabella by it's owner.

My thanks to all who commented on Gordon Lane, and special thanks goes to Jeff {cats_123} for his User Award.

Ronnie.

A beauty which truly causes a stir.
The wide angle included well the attention.

Can't find your forum topic (link please) Ronnie but I know exactly what you mean. I think it particularly applies when you are older (like me) and is even worse when you are female - older woman = invisible! In spite of this irritation you have managed to get a lovely crisp shot of this ageing beauty. I particularly love the reflections in the wheel arches (is that what they are called)?

Now THAT IS A CAR Ronnie! What a beauty, as to rude togs, you'd expect them to know better, but they are, in fact, the worst, I've had people step back when they see me with the camera, but none of them were ever fellow togs!

Great shot Ronnie I think the admiring public help to make the car seem proud somehow.

Shame that other photographers couldn't be more considerate - always get out of the way of anyone trying to take a shot
even if they are only using a phone or ipad - maybe its an age thingSmile

Watched an interview the other day on Reporting Scotland and thought what a lovely vehicle that elderly gent was about to set off on the Monte Carlo Rally in - I think it said he was leading it? These wonderful old vehicles really are so special and always so lovingly preserved. This one's a cracker and clearly the crowd around it thought likewise!

So sad that people can be so lacking in respect for other toggers though.

Didn't know there was this event in Glasgow.
It's never going to be easy to get the image we'd like in these occasions
but you've captured the car in the moment with the thrill of the crowd included.

A bit late but if anyone can't find the forum post it's here .

I gave up going to the start of the London to Brighton many years ago for the very same reasons, Ronnie. A lovely old car and the wide angle gets you in there.

Everybody loves an old car but your right some people eh! They do not consider others when they are trying to get a decent picture, we all suffer for the selfish habits of these people but you did very well with this shot Ronnie - you could always borrow my stick and whack em one, I get so tempted at timesWink people run in front of me in their haste to get from a-b and would knock me over given a chanceSad

Good for you Ronnie, there really are some ignorant b's, who call themselves Photographer's, around, and most of them work for News Papers, and I'm talking from experience here. I know they have a job to do, but it seems at the expense of anyone else wishing to get a shot in.
Anyway, a very nice shot of a lovely old Classic.

O I know what you mean Ronnie, Some so called Photographers give the name a bad insight, not all I might add but it just is not on, to them it's dog eat dog, pleased I'm not like that. good angle well captured and all things considered very well done.
