Not the usual angle on this, and all the better for it. Rules are there to be broken, but I've tried a mod, so I'll be interested in how you find it.

Thank you Carol, Yung and Alan.
Yup Alan I like the mod.. it works well. You still retained the cloud patterns and it looks fine. I know what you mean about not the usual angle. I though of going to find something a bit different and was just following the tide out looking for angles without getting my shadow in at the same time, as the sun was behind me. I was cut short thinking my ticket on the car (Yes I paid to go in the car park by the pier- purely so Jura was not getting out of the car on the road!) would run out. Then when I got back, realised they have extended the times for winter and I could have stayed there much longer!!! Grin

There's enough reflective repetition in the sky and sand to make this central comp work Jeanie IMO.

A centrally placed horizon can really enhance a feeling of open space which I'm sure you were thinking about when you framed this one up!

I reckon it's a strong composition, Jeanie. I don't think it would have worked without the cloud and its reflection. As it is, there's great balance helped, not least, by the distant stretch of sunlit coast.

Thanks Ian. I loved that light. It was a fabulous day, light-wise. Especially when you consider it was about 1230 in the afternoon when this was taken. Low cloud, cold day and warm light.. Somebody here in work cannot believe its actually St Annes down the road Smile
