It's a wonderful world...

By Greyheron
Most micro four thirds users are fascinated with using legacy glass on their camera bodies - I'm no different … So while getting my kit ready for the afternoon shoot I found an old used Canon EF 500mm f4 L IS Mk2 with a Mk3 1.4 extender attached in the boot of Sylvia's car - what's a man supposed to do - rooting around in my camera bag I found my MFT to EF adaptor and slipped the rig onto my MFT body, mounted it onto the Mongoose gimbal and headed off to try my luck… Had to manual focus but that's not too difficult using the GX7's focus peaking… now as to magnification (equivalent in 35mm terms) 500mm x 1.4 = 700mm x 2 (crop factor) = 1400mm Grin Blush

Thank you for the use of your lens Sylvia - I had a lot of fun using this rig as you know Grin

This little pup was born earlier in the day and was chillin' in the dunes in front of the gallery - the mental images from the trip will stay with me for a long time methinks, amazing experience Grin

24 Nov 2013 2:35PM that's where my lens went, Mike !! GrinGrinGrin. A seriously brilliant portrait with terrific detail and wonderful warm, rich tones. Got me thinking about that GX7 Wink. That trip will remain in my memory for a long time too. The beauty of the whole experience was that one can get these shots from behind the viewing area fence, without venturing out across the sands and stressing the animals out at this very sensitive breeding season time Smile
