It's cold out here !

By teocali
Full frame capture of the newly born Atlantic Grey Seal pup (Halichoerus grypus), just a few minutes old, staring in bewilderment at the strange, new, seemingly hostile world into which it has just been cast. The genus name Halichoerus grypus means 'hook-nosed sea-pig'.

Many thanks for your C&Cs on last night's upload - much appreciated Smile

I'd a feeling this might have been one of yours, don't know why that is Smile

Thanks for the comment on my Peregrine, only I've deleted it now as I prefered a similar shot, I'm fickle. Right I'm off to see what else you've been up to now as I've been so busy packing for a forthcoming house move I've no idea what folks have been doing of late, yep were moving and you'll be so jealous about where were going it will make wanna throw up GrinGrinGrinGrin

I just couldn't believe how quickly he pulled himself together and latched onto a teat, Mike. These creatures only have 3 weeks to weaning and then the mother gets mated again and vanishes off to sea!! By the look of the plump weanlings that congregated near the fence of the viewing platform, that milk must be mighty rich!!!!!

An enchanting wildlife image Sylvia, what a privelege it must have been to witness the birth. Those big eyes are most appealing

Amazing shot. Love those eyes. Cathy
Another beauty Sylvia!Smile, the eye contact is priceless in this one, an adorable image!Smile

It's quite incredible that they can be born at this time of year!, I watched a plump pup asleep in a puddle on the Monday dusk...............in the morning he was in the same position, fast asleep with frost on the sand around him LOL, amazing creatures!!!Smile
