I've watched drone photography in action once, at an archaeological dig that we photographed. Quite extraordinary.

The question was begging to be asked.

I like your drone images but my personal jury is out on drones per se.

I understand there are strict rules governing them now but having seen one hit a beach after tormenting everyone by diving low, I'm none too keen.

Drones are like cars, skateboards and Fender Stratocaster guitars: wonderful when used carefully. Stevetheroofer, in his interview with me a few months back, emphasised that as well as the rules (which restrict use a good deal, and more so for larger drones), the watchword is consideration. Even if it's legal to fly, don't do it if it's likely to upset someone.

So I was keeping well away from people (and dogs - while a drone could scare a dog, a dog could destroy a drone rapidly), and flew slowly.

I can see that there may be hooligans around: my own feeling is that I've invested a fair few quid in a very clever gizmo, and I don't want to risk damaging it, or doing anything that might tempt someone to put the boot in on it, or me.

I don't doubt for a minute that you are responsible in your use of your drone John as is Steve. You both create excellent images using them.

Thank you for reinforcing that message of consideration John.

I think my first was a Brownie Hawkeye around age 7 or 8....these make great use of your drone, John. The title a reference to a Stan Rogers song...Lines?
