It's Snow Time...

By Jasper87
...and All That Jazz.

Two more from my local park (Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, North London).

v1 ... the moat from William Morris House

v2 ... 'park life' - the madness version Grin

Iso 200, 1/100sec, f7.1, @ 68mm ... no tripod (again!)

Seems like I got the running order wrong (again) on my last. Many thanks for all the comments/votes and Graham for his UA.

A really difficult choice this morning Dave I love the water sweeping through v1 but the contrast of snow on tree is glorious. Can't make my mind up so may have to pop back later. Wink

Dave I like both versions but v2 just steals it for me. I like the leading lines and repeating patterns topped with snow. Please tell me you haven't broken your 7d and 15 - 85 combo?

Who knew it could snow so much daaan saaath?! Wink The autumn leaves in V1 make a great contrast with the snow. I always find snowy branches crossing each other give a bit of a flattened result and I wonder if you shot from a lower PoV whether seeing more of the moat into the distance would have given the image more depth and allowed the branches to frame it rather than obscure? The trunks with their receeding symmetry give V2 a lot of depth while the runner and the snow piled up one side of the trees give more energy. Your series has certainly shown how dramatic the snowfall was with you Smile

The autumn leaves provide a touch of warmth in an otherwise cold winter scene, Dave, and I go along with the madness bit in V 2........itself a very well composed image looking along the line of trunks, half covered in wind driven snow, and with the that bloke braving the elements adding the human touch.

I have to admit quite honestly that I do not miss snow - we had about 1 hr of flurries last year, and that was it. The snow melted within one hour and life was back to normal.

Of these two, I think the second upload is by far better. Really like the perspective in the shot, the lone jogger, the way the snow is piled against one side of the trees. Excellent.
