It seems so long ago...

By mrswoolybill
Memories of summer. Strawberries and cream, sunshine, a lot of flag-waving... The colour version of this was tucked away in my New Year's Eve upload, I thought the b&w version deserved its own spot. Without colour you have to hunt out the patriotic details.
This was taken at the Community Allotment Open Day. The lady was watching a rather good-looking young man digging potatoes for sale. Here Up North we are simple folk, we make our own entertainment...
My apologies to everyone who voted and commented on the previous upload. There was an mysterious black blob on the lady's right wrist, I've no idea what it was but it was irritating me more and more.
Thanks for looking,

Thought I'd seen this lady earlier in the day, Moira Wink. She's reminiscing about the time many years ago when she was as fit and as energetic as the lad she was watching dig potatoes. Carol

Wonderful mono portrait, Moira! Wish we could change the photo as well using edit. It would would be so convenient, wouldn't it? We sometimes need to make a change.

I'm an annoying perfectionist too - really nothing wrong with that Smile

Very happy to see this uploaded in mono - I really liked the colour but here we are down to pure heart.

Don't know quite why but this tugs at my heart strings and brings a slight tear to my eye. Definitely a lot of emotional content for me.

Good for her, still got at least three pleasures! It's a super image, Moira and it works very well in mono.

I know very well that I have rather complex Neurological problems, but I am sure that I commented on this wonderful image earlier today. If I did not please forgive my undoubted stupidity. "A wonderfully observed character study of the beautiful young Lady"

Don't worry, Nathan, it's a repost! There was a nasty black blob in the first attempt, I couldn't live with it.
Thanks everyone, and particularly Trevor for his UA.

Makes me think of one of my unties that allways looks very well dressed and gives me tea and cream cakes at 5.00pm because she says that's what I get in England all the time...
